TOTEMGet is a download manager for macOS, published by Oceanic Consulting VOF (Poortugaal, the Netherlands). By installing or using it you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the application.
TOTEMGet transfers files that you ask it to transfer. It does not host, select, index, recommend or verify any content. It has no catalogue and no library of its own. Every address it connects to comes from you or from a page you chose to open.
You may install and use TOTEMGet on computers you own or control, for personal or internal business purposes. The application and its source code remain the property of Oceanic Consulting VOF. You may not copy, modify, decompile, distribute, sell or sublicense the application, or create derivative works from it, without our prior written permission.
This is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly.
You are solely responsible for what you download and for what you do with it. In particular, you confirm that you will:
Note specifically that downloading videos from YouTube conflicts with YouTube's own terms of service, regardless of the tool used. The video feature is switched off when TOTEMGet is installed. Turning it on is your decision, and the responsibility for what you then download is yours.
Some optional features use programs that are already installed on your computer — yt-dlp, ffmpeg, and archive tools such as 7-Zip. These are not written, supplied, bundled or licensed by us. They are governed by their own licences and their own authors' terms. TOTEMGet simply runs what it finds on your machine, and we make no representation about those programs or their behaviour.
TOTEMGet collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no unique identifier. Specifically:
update.totemget.com. That check sends nothing except the request for the feed itself: no identifier, no account, no information about you or your downloads. It can be switched off in Settings → Updates, and the only thing we can infer from it is that some copy of TOTEMGet somewhere asked whether a newer one exists;127.0.0.1 — never to us and never to anyone else;Apart from that update check, nothing about you, your downloads or your settings is transmitted to Oceanic Consulting VOF or to any third party by this application.
TOTEMGet is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular website will work with it.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Oceanic Consulting VOF is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising from the use of or inability to use TOTEMGet. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may update these terms. When the text changes materially you will be shown the new version and asked to accept it before continuing to use the application.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your own country of residence.
