Installing

1. Open the disk image and drag TOTEMGet into your Applications folder.
2. Launch it. No Gatekeeper warning: the app is signed with an Apple Developer ID, notarized, and the ticket is stapled to the image, so it opens even on a Mac that is offline.
3. Read and accept the terms on first launch. They are short, and they are the same text you can read here beforehand.
4. Install the browser extension if you want your browser's downloads handed over automatically. It is optional — you can paste links straight into the app.

Optional extras

Two features use tools TOTEMGet deliberately does not bundle, so you stay in control of what runs on your machine. Skip this section unless you want them.

Video pages — needs yt-dlp, and ffmpeg when a site serves video and audio separately:

Unpacking archives — macOS handles .zip on its own; for RAR and 7z sets:

brew install sevenzip unar

Updates

TOTEMGet checks for new versions itself and installs them in place. Every update is signed with a key that only we hold, and the app refuses any update that does not carry that signature — so a compromised server cannot push you something else. The check sends no identifier and nothing about your downloads, and you can switch it off in Settings → Updates.

Removing it

Drag the app to the Trash. Its settings live in your user preferences and any site passwords you saved live in your macOS Keychain, where you can delete them yourself with Keychain Access. Your downloaded files are left exactly where they are.
